Pauls Jonass maintains his position in the top five in the MXGP World Championship
Pauls Jonass of Standing Construct Honda MXGP maintains his position in the top five of the MXGP World Championship. During the second race of the championship in Arroyomolinos, Spain, Jonass scored consistently with an 8-7 in the motos and finished seventh in the day’s standings.
Jonass made a strong start in the championship in Argentina and prepared himself for the race in Spain with confidence, an admittedly very different track, with a hard surface and treacherous ruts. On Saturday, Jonass set an eighth fastest time in time practice and finished in eleventh place in the qualifying heat after he could not avoid a fallen rider and crashed spectacularly.
Jonass was hoping for a better feeling in the motos on Sunday. Despite the fact that things were getting better, he didn’t feel completely free yet and therefore tried not to make too big mistakes and to score constantly. This worked because with an eighth and a seventh place in the motos, Jonass took 27 points and is now in fifth place in the championship standings.
In two weeks’ time, the championship will continue on the sand circuit of Riola Sardo in Sardinia.
